Drum Circle at the Art Garden every other Sunday Afternoon 4:3o to 7pm!
Hosted by our very own long time Canal resident and drum teacher extraordinaire Sandra de Fontanes, it's super fun tribal drum circle with sangrias flowing, amazing Brazilian tunes including Sandra’s own music, and tapas style food to munch on brought by participating drummers in potluck fashion… So get your rhythm on, Art Garden people! You are invited to drum, imbibe, samba and be very merry!
Keep in mind, the event is participatory, not a spectator party. Everyone will be expected to participate! You can not be too novice to join in, all levels of rhythm are represented.
Drum circles are fun and do not require any musical background! It is about having fun and getting out of our heads, so to speak. Adults also need to be children at heart and what better way to hit the drums and forget about your troubles! With drumming you raise your vibration and get happy. I tell families at my classes: “more drums, less tantrums!” Yes, the drum is a great healing tool!! Drumming is also a great way to gather and find unity with friends and family!
Sundays: July 24th, August 7th & 21st and as long as its warm enough! First drumming starts at 5pm, then a half hour break, followed by a second circle at 6:15.
Sandra will be graciously bringing some drums of her own for us to use, but please bring any drumming instruments you have at home in case there is a shortage. Bongos, drums and tambourines are all welcome. Please bring a bottle of wine if you intend to indulge, or other beverage of choice. Co hosted by our master of fun, Alyxa! See you all at the circle on Fridays!
