Tita Lima is releasing her new EP Compacto˛ and will bring her band to the Art Garden Saturday June 10th, for a performance. (See and listen here: titalimamusic.com) Brief bio below. Sandra Sandia (our host) will also be joining her and sing from her CD Algeria. Opening will be Shannon Lee Hayden, extraordinaire cellist. She performs her own compositions around the world and is just returning from a worldwide tour with Kirtan musician “Simrit”. (shannonleehayden.com) After Tita, DJ Salada will be returning to the Art Garden to infect your you with his unique rhythms. It's going to be a rockin' evening!
This is a BYOB and Potluck tapas style food. (Not a dinner, but party delicacies.)

Sunday June 11th 11:00 AM - Final clean up.

Tita Lima is a singer, composer and producer. She makes a sophisticated mix of bossa nova/samba with soul, dub and afrobeat. Definetly, Tita is one of the best in new brazilian music scene.

Tita has was born into music, and has been performing since age 14. Starting with the House of Blues, and then on to tours of Brazil, Europe and the US, as well as performing in festivals and international music fairs, such as WOMEX and SXSW.
Tita knew and made jam sessions with Steve Wonder, Etta James, Chaka Khan, Bernard Purdie (drummer of James Brown), Meshell N’Dedge O’Cello, Larry Granham, Charlie Hunter, Bill Withers, Al Green, Bootsy Collins, and other personalities who had a big influence in her work.
